See Snow in Jiuzhaigou

In contrast to its summer attraction, Jiuzhaigou displayed a different landscape in winter. When snow falls, the snow flakes fly between mountains, lakes and brush against our faces like soft kiss. Trees are covered in white and the icy world tranquilizes people's heart and soul.

In local climate, winter season falls in Jiuzhaigou between January and May. In the past, many people thought that the mountain areas were closed in winter time. In fact, Jiuzhaigou opens through the whole year.

Due to large differences in altitude, the mountain peaks in Jiuzhaigou is capped with snow all year round and in other places, they display different scenery at various seasons. In Summer, lush green trees grow there and in winter, they turn out to be a snowy world.

There are many places to go in Jiuzhaigou at winter time, such as Baojingyan(the treasure mirror rock), Penjingtan (the miniature beach), Luweihai (the reed sea), Wucaichi (the five color pool), etc. When going there in winter, tourists can have a deep knowledge about the incredible geological makings there and know more about science, geologists said.

Apart from the beautiful landscape, tourists can also see the local custom of the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups, the lion dance, horse racing, and Zhuan Shan (a local ritual)etc. All these make one feel a different world.
