How is the quality of silk products of China, whose silk output accounts for four fifths of world's total?
China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) released the result of a latest state-supervised spot test this afternoon, indicating that the quality of China's silk products is satisfying in general, with over 90 percent of the sampled meeting the national standards.
Silk products are part of the Chinese culture and a traditional preponderant industry of the country. According to statistics, gross production value of the silk industry accounts for about 9 percent of China's textile industry.
In order to regulate silk product producers and stimulate healthy development of the silk industry, AQSIQ carried out a state-supervised spot test on the quality of 47 types of silk products manufactured by 47 enterprises of Zhejiang and Jinagsu, the country's major silk production areas. 44 of these products meet the standards, with the qualified rate reaching 93.6 percent.
