Spicy roasted ducks, roasted ducks of Datong Restaurant, fried spring rolls (a thin sheet of dough, rolled, stuffed), fried chicken wings, rice cooked with chicken oil, hamburgers, French fries… All these classic Chinese and western fast food, were displayed on the same table today and will become the main food in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Tony, executive chef of the Disneyland, is a chef of the local catering industry. He said that as a city abounding with delicacies, Hong Kong congregates a multiplicity of food cultures.
As early as in 2000, the Hong Kong Disneyland made the plan to seek Chinese and western dishes and delicacies in every part of Asia to create a wonderful Disneyland menu.
As the Hong Kong Disneyland regards mainland China as its major market, its chefs have paid visits throughout the mainland and designed special dishes for restaurants in different parks and Disneyland hotels, focusing on many Chinese dishes, in order to meet tastes of mainland tourists.
With a view to recent food safety problems in Hong Kong, the Disneyland's catering director Mui Ka-lok said that the Hong Kong Disneyland attaches great importance to food safety and will resort to all measures to ensure food safety for its visitors.
