Lufthansa to Promote On-board Internet Service

Lufthansa announced Sunday it will promote the on-board Internet service "flynet" on the routes to China in the second half of this year.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Lufthansa's first flight to China, all passengers on business and first classes will get free coupon to surf on Internet valid until December 31, 2005, said Gregor Wende, chief representative of Lufthansa Airlines in China.

Lufthansa and Boeing promoted "flynet" in May last year, which allowed passengers to obtain instant information and respond to emails on board.

Lufthansa now operated 41 flights to China per week, ranking the first in all European airlines. It also invest in cargo, maintenance, catering and technical service in China.
