China's tourism sector boomed over this year's seven-day May Day holiday, setting new records in terms of both travelers and revenue.
Beijing recorded more than four millions visits over the period, with the total tourism revenue 40 percent larger than the same period last year.
Statistics also show retailers across the country were extremely successful. Some big shops in central China's Changsha city saw their sales volume increase by more than sixty percent.
