Local passengers in south China's Guangzhou City are complaining about the poor air quality on buses with air-conditioners, saying it is even worse than buses without air conditioners.
For some reason, bus drivers don't turn on their air conditioners and don't open any windows during the warm spring and autumn seasons.
A local government adviser said a lack of ventilation on public transportation causes the spread of contagious illnesses.
Guangzhou Municipal Transportation Department said efforts will be made to expand air quality inspections on local buses, the Southern Metropolis News reports.
