Asiana Airlines said Tuesday it will operate four weekly charter flights between Incheon International Airport and Weihai in eastern China, beginning next week.
The smaller of South Korea's two airlines said the charter flights will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Weihai, located at the eastern tip of China's Shandong Peninsula, is a well-known port and tourist city.
Asiana Airlines also said it will upgrade its charter service between Busan and Hangzhou in eastern China to two scheduled flights a week from next Tuesday.
The flag carrier plans to provide two regular flights a week on its route between Busan and Gwangzhou in eastern China starting next Wednesday, a switch from the current charter service.
Asiana Airlines is the flagship of Kumho Asiana Group, a midsize South Korean conglomerate whose business ranges from tire manufacturing to chemical production, insurance and investment banking.
