Internet-enabled travel, or e-travel, will dominate the global tourism industry in the coming years, Gulf News Daily reported on Monday.
“The travel and tourism industries are going through a fundamental change in the world, Deborah Frampton, British Airways manager for the UAE, was quoted as saying.
“Globally, British Airways records 25,000 visits per hour, and among them more than 9,000 tickets are sold online, according to the manager.
“The carrier has introduced e-booking, e-ticketing and e-boarding as part of their increasing customer services to the passengers as well as the travel agents.
“Meanwhile, a traveler can also book a limo or hotel room, or buy a travel package online, said Frampton.
