Shenzhen's Metro Trials to Begin

Sixteen Shenzhen Metro stations had been completed and handed over to the operator, the Shenzhen Metro Corp., with trials to start Monday, the Daily Sunshine reported Sunday.

The smooth transfer paved the way for the opening of the Metro. The Zhuzilin station was the first to be transferred to the operator Oct. 20.

The overseas Chinese Town and Window of the World stations would be handed over Nov. 15, the report said.

Phase I of the Shenzhen Metro has 20 stations and its construction was started in March 2001. Apart from Huanggang, the other 19 would be completed by the end of the year.
