Hotels and inns throughout Beijing have received more than two million overseas tourists during the first three quarter this year, according to the source with Beijing Tourism Administration Wednesday.
The overseas tourism in Beijing is seeing a boost 2004, back up from 2003's SARS-induced low levels. In all, 2.14 million overseas travelers visited the Chinese capital from January to September, very close to the record high figure in 2002, said the source.
Asian tourists visiting Beijing during the first three quarters increased 91.3 percent. The number of American tourists has grown by 109 percent, European 75.6 percent, Oceanian 98.1 percent and African 104 percent. (Xinhua News Agency October 28, 2004)
