The nation's largest and most outstanding virtual museums group, Science Museums of China, has just received its 30 millionth visitor since opening five years ago, China Radio International reported Tuesday.
The museum is supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, maintained by the Computer Network Information Center of the Academy and depends on China Science & Technology Net as its platform.
The virtual Science Museums of China group has 60 Chinese language museums and 10 English language ones, including a Panda Museum and a Pottery Museum.
Daily hits on the website have increased from 800 to 50 thousand.
The Science Museums of China website is strengthening international cooperation through a series of scientific programs for children made by the American Sesame Workshop, which started online broadcasting Monday. (CRI.com October 27, 2004)
