One hundred and five teams from 45 countries and regions have registered to take part in the first international wushu festival, slated from October 16-20 in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, organizers said in Zhengzhou, Central China on Saturday.
The international festival, the first and the biggest of the kind, is sanctioned by the International Wushu Federation, featuring some 2,000 wushu players in six aged groups in four categories of quanshu (Fist martial art), equipment, one-on-one and team events.
During the festival, organizers will also host seminars on martial arts, group performances and tours to Shaolin Temple at Songshan Mountain.
Some 30,000 wushu players will line up along the 20-kilometer highway in 200 groups to give their Shaolin performances.
