Air Routes Change

More than 50 air routes linking Shenzhen and other parts of China will have to be adjusted after relocation of the Guangzhou International Baiyun Airport.

"All our flights to and from Shenzhen are to be rerouted," said Liu Tongsong, a China Southern Airlines manager based in Shenzhen.

"But the rerouting will have no effect on flying time," he said.

Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport will be relocated to Huadu, north of central Guangzhou and more than 20 kilometers from the old airport August 5. After that, all flights passing Guangzhou will be rerouted. The original Shenzhen-Changsha flight passes Shuikou, Shilong, Zhuliao, Yingde and Changsha. After rerouting, it will pass Qiehuangjiang, Shilong, T Point (a navigation station), Yingde and Changsha.

Only three Shenzhen flights will remain unchanged. These are for Jinjiang, Xiamen and Haikou.
