Air Macao's maiden flight from Incheon Airport in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea (ROK), arrived at the Macao International Airport Wednesday morning, marking the launch of the airline's new route.
Air Macao will start regular service on the Seoul-Macao route operating three flights weekly. It plans to increase the frequency to four flights weekly by adding one service on Sunday in August to accommodate the summer tourist boom.
The company said that with a number of new casinos coming on stream in Macao and the city's nomination for the World Heritage Award by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Macao is getting more internationally renown as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the region.
The carrier is confident that the new route will accommodate the mounting demand for passenger transport between the ROK and Macao, which enjoy equal visa-free status.
