Holiday in Iraq Hindered by Visa Problems

The Iraqi Embassy in China says that Iraq visas cannot be granted in China currently due to the disappearance of its consul general last June.

But Chinese citizens still can get visas through the Iraq Embassy in Jordan.

It is still uncertain when this unsatisfactory situation can be put right. However, it is perhaps not the greatest of worries as the Chinese Embassy in Iraq had warned Chinese citizens had not to come to Iraq due to the current lack of stability there.

Iraq maintained a strict visa policy during Saddam Hussein's rule, but since his ignominious exit, most nationalities can enter the country for an indefinite period of time as long as they present a passport at the border.
