China's Software Industry Opens Wide to World

Leading international information technology companies will gather in southwest China's Sichuan Province for China's second international software cooperation conference next month.

Cosponsored by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the provincial government, the conference will be held in the Sichuan's capital of Chengdu from April 5 to 7.

The conference will focus on the cooperation between domestic and foreign IT enterprises, IT development in China's major cities, software manufacturing, IT security and cyber games.

An official with Chengdu municipal government said representatives from the Ministries of Information Industry, Commerce, and Science and Technology as well as leading IT entrepreneurs will speak at the conference.

A number of leading IT enterprises, such as SUN, Oracle, IBM, HP, Intel and Motorola, had confirmed they would participate the conference.

Hopefully the conference would become a platform for exchanges between software manufacturers at home and abroad, boosting the development of China's software industry, said the official.
