East China's Yangtze Delta Economic Zone will set up an official website with information about industry standards, agricultural production and tertiary industry services, according to the joint declaration of Yangtze Delta standards service system.
Signed last Wednesday in Shanghai, the declaration mainly dealt with conformity of trade standards and information sharing.
An official with Shanghai Standards Organization said that as the most developed zone in China, the Yangtze Delta's standards information service proved unsatisfactory.
In compliance with the declaration, 16 cities in the Yangtze Delta will jointly establish an official website, uniformly uploading information on domestic and overseas standards of production and services, laws and rules of technology application, and quality assessment procedures.
Early work would be carried out by the Shanghai Standards Organization, and other cities would pitch in afterwards, said the official.
"We hope that users of our new standards service system can have an access to all standards information, including ISO, IEC and ITU."
