The first International Technology Conference kicked off Tuesday in Hong Kong to share the latest technology and market trends in integrated circuit (IC) and wireless technologies from the world's leading industry experts.
As part of the commitment of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government to stimulating science and technology development, the two-day International Technology Conference aims to foster stronger collaboration in the SAR.
Carrying the theme "2003 Technology Drivers for Tomorrow," the conference not only facilitates the exchanges of IC and wireless technologies, but also draws attention to the unique business and investment opportunities that Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan present in the development and commercialization of these technologies.
Conference speakers include top technology experts from the industries and academics globally including United Microelectronics, IBM, Taiwan SOC Consortium, MIT, Motorola and Ericsson.
Key issues to be addressed are IC process technology, IC design, broadband, multimedia, applications and systems.
Some 300 academicians, industrialists, practicing engineers, venture capitalists, government officials and some university students attended the conference.
