First Chinese Visible Human Created
The first Chinese digitized visible human was born lately on the campus of Chongqing-based Third Military Medical University, whose birth will provide systematic, complete and detailed basic data and images of human anatomy for China or even the whole Orient.

This achievement in scientific research, of innovative significance, was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and consumed three years' efforts of a 20-odd-member group led by Professor Zhang Shaoxiang, winner of the National Distinguished Talents Foundation of China and advisor to doctoral candidates.

At the press release, members of the group demonstrated a collection of human data and images on computer, giving a clear and vivid picture to "his" muscles, bones, nerves and organs on the screen, coupled with red arteries and blue veins. So far, China has formally become the third country with its own data collections of visible human.

The visible human will help raise the accuracy of human imaging technology and provide referential data for disease diagnosis, development of new medicines and schemes of surgical operations, with a wide application in aviation, P.E., automobile, architecture, mechanical and electrical manufacturing, film and TV production, and other human anatomy-related sectors.
