Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province, will hold the fourth annual conference of the China Association for Science and Technology in September.
With the theme "China's science and technology after World Trade Organization (WTO) entry and sustainable development", the conference will discuss such issues as the WTO and China's science and technology strategy, resources security in west China, strategies in China's agricultural development and protection of the national natural heritage.
About 6,000 science workers are expected to attend the conference.
