The 4th Seminar of Cross Straits Young Scientists opened in Beijing Tuesday, attended by more than 70 young scientists from both the mainland and Taiwan Province.
Hosted jointly by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Taiwan Association for Cross-Straits Academic and Cultural Exchange, the 3-day seminar will work on the theme of Joining WTO -- Opportunities Challenges and Cooperation for Cross Strait Science and Technology.
About 50 papers are expected to be delivered by participants, involving the WTO and the readjustment and development of industrial structure, research and development of traditional Chinese medicine and its prospect in the international market, among others.
Launched in 1999, the annual seminar has become an important event for young scientists across the Taiwan Straits to carry out academic exchanges in various fields.
