This year's forum on oceanic science, technology and economic development will be held in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, from July 14-16.
The forum will be jointly held by several organizations, including the Development and Research Center under the State Council, and Qingdao City Government.
According to organizers, some 300 people will attend the forum, including Chinese government officials, entrepreneurs, and oceanic research experts from China, the United States, Germany, Britain and Canada.
During the forum, participants will discuss topics ranging from molecular science and marine resources, global changes and the environment for marine resources, to protection and utilization of the coastal geological environment.
Other activities, including an international navigation fair and a summer camp for children will also be held while the forum is on, said the organizers.
