Client Support Center for ARJ21 Built in Shanghai

Construction work started for a client support center for ARJ 21, a jet plane independently developed by China, in Shanghai, the economic hub of east China on Monday.

Located at Zizhu Sci-Tech Park in Minxing District of Shanghai, the project, the first of its kind in the country, is built by AVICI Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd.

The center will provide training, service in spare parts and network services for clients of ARJ 21 planes, according to officials with the AVICI commercial aircraft company.

The center's spare part supply will be a round-the-clock service available every day in a week. Spare parts will include fuselage and ground support equipment (GSE) and tools.

The center will be completed in June 2007 and go into operation in 2008.
