The government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) appointed Yue On-ching Science Adviser to the Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong Thursday.
Professor Yue will take up his three-year post starting from September 1 after his predecessor Wong Wing-sing completes his service and leaves the commission at the end of this month.
Yue will provide specialist advice on matters related to innovation and technology development. He will tender technical advices to the Government and the Communications and Technology Branch.
He will also provide assistance and advice to the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology on technology development.
Yue has a strong track record in wireless communications, data networking and telecommunications. He obtained his PhD at the University of California in San Diego and had 26 years of research experience on wireless networking at a world-renowned research institution in telecommunications and networking in the United States.
