The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China's top scientific think tank, has held a symposium on the strategy of scientific and technological cooperation with Russia.
In the face of the difficulties in the field of high-tech international cooperation, CAS attaches great importance to scientific cooperation with Russia, said Cao Jianli, vice president of CAS.
According to last Friday's Science Times, CAS focuses on cooperation with scientifically developed countries including European nations, the United States, Japan and Russia, as well as other neighboring countries.
China and Russia have a history of cooperation in the fields of physical science and technology, and the prospect of further cooperation is optimistic, said Cao.
Chen Zhu, another vice president of CAS, said that Russia has a strong scientific development system and unique science and technology development pattern. China should learn from their advantages in scientific innovation, he added.
Similar symposia on cooperation with the United States, Japan, Europe, developing countries and China's neighboring countries will also be held by CAS to help make a comprehensive international cooperation strategy.
