The "AMD Guangzi 64-bit Software Development Center" was unveiled Monday at the Nanning New & High Tech Industrial Development Zone. This is the first 64-bit software development center set up by America's AMD Corporation, the world's second largest integrated circuit supplier.
Karen Guo, corporate vice president of AMD, president and general manager of AMD Greater China Headquarters, said at the unveiling ceremony that Guangxi, acting as the bridgehead of China's Western Development as well as the site of the China-ASEAN expo, has rich resources and presents good prospects for software development. The establishment of the center will introduce the most advanced 64-bit computing technology to Guangxi as well as China's western region. AMD hopes that its software center can promote the rapid development of and directly contribute to the IT technology in Guangxi Province and the western region.
