A molecular life sciences research center has been jointly established in Shanghai by Chinese and US science institutes.
Seven research teams from the Shanghai Life Sciences Institute of the Chinese Academy of Science and the University of California at Berkeley will cooperate on research at the center.
They will work in such areas as signal transmission, rice functional genomics program, and metabolism and photosynthesis.
The center will also be open to any third party for research.
