According to the organizers, over 1,000 Wushu athletes, coaches, referees, and officials from 88 countries and regions will take part in 40 events that include 22 Taolu competitions and 18 Sanshou competitions.
The Taolu competitions will consist of a barehanded routine, short weapon, long weapon, and Duilian, while the Sanshou competitions have different weight categories for men and women.
One of the highlights is the introduction of musical accompaniment for Taijiquan (categorized as a barehanded routine) and Taijijian (in short weapon) to make the competitions more arresting.
