Liu Jinmin, executive vice president of the Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee, says Beijing organizers have made Olympic security a top priority.
Liu made the remarks Thursday, stressing that the overall security situation is good in Beijing and China as a whole.
However, the Chinese government and the organizing committee won't take security for granted and will pay special attention to the issue.
The Beijing Organizing Committee has commenced the tedious task of drawing detailed anti-terrorist and anti-riot plans this year.
Meanwhile, the Committee is also in the process of beefing up the construction of a computerized security information system.
