China, Caribbean Nations Discuss Cooperation

The second consultation meeting between the foreign ministries of China and nine Caribbean nations was held in St. John's, capital of Antigua and Barbuda, Tuesday.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhou Wenzhong and diplomatic representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica attended the meeting, reports reaching Beijing said Wednesday.

At the meeting, participants highly appraised the development of cooperation between the two sides since the first consultation meeting in September 2002. They reached consensus on further enhancing political, economic and cultural cooperation.

China and the Caribbean nations agreed that the next meeting will be held in Beijing in 2006.
