CAE Signs Cooperation Pacts with Foreign Organizations

The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) on Wednesday signed cooperation agreements with five foreign academic organizations, in a bid to enhance research and development exchanges with them.

Xu Kuangdi, CAE president, signed the documents with representatives from the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Croatian Academy of Engineering and the Asian Institute of Technology.

Wang Dianzuo, vice president of CAE, signed the document agreeing on continuation of cooperation with a representative from the Fraunhofer Association of Germany.

According to the five documents, the CAE and its foreign counterparts would enhance exchange in personnel, information and advanced technologies.

The CAE and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences agreed to jointly research and develop solar energy, wind-driven energy and biological energy. The Chinese side hopes to learn from developed countries in using reproducible energies.

To date, the CAE has already signed cooperation agreements with25 foreign academic bodies.
