Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Chen Zhu said in Beijing Sunday that the CAS and the Max Planck Society (MPS) of Germany will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their cooperation.
One of the celebration activities will be held here Monday morning and the two research institutes are expected to sign documents for further partnership, said Chen, who is also a world recognized bio-scientist.
Cooperation between the two began with the MPS offering a few guest researcher posts for excellent Chinese scientists in 1974. They also joined hands in the research of the severe acute respiratory syndrome virus in 2003.
