Chinese Student to Attend UN Children's Forum in Barcelona

Yao Yue, the only Chinese delegate to the United Nations Children's Forum, left his junior middle school in east China on Friday for Barcelona of Spain to attend the United Nations Children's Forum which will be launched on Sunday.

The forum will see the participation of officials from relevant United Nations agencies and more than 100 children delegates from all over the world. They will give their views on issues covering poverty, war, conflict, and AIDS.

A 1.2-meter-tall boy, Yao is a student of the No.38 Middle School of Hefei, capital of Anhui Province.

According to Zhu Yumin, one of Yao's classmates, Yao is creative and has many practical inventions such as bicycle skid proof chain and dustless blackboard brush. Yao is also very conscientious to care about the benefits of handicapped people.

Yao said he would appeal to children worldwide, in his speech to the forum, to call for the establishment of a fair and undiscriminating society for all handicapped people in the world.

Apart from his duty at the forum, Yao hoped he could get signatures of his beloved superstars of Barcelona's football team.
