Israeli troops stationed west of Khan Younis refugee camp on saturday shot and killed a Palestinian child and wounded 11 others during an incursion into the western part of the camp, medics and witnesses said.
They said that Sa'eed Abu Akkar, 8, was shot dead after an Israeli army gunfire hit his head, adding that 11 other Palestinians were shot and wounded, three of them are in serious conditions.
Israeli troops who raided the western part of Khan Younis refugee camp in southern Gaza Strip shot and wounded earlier on Saturday evening three Palestinians, the witnesses and medics reported.
They added that a number of Israeli tanks and armored vehicles had suddenly stormed the western part of the refugee camp that is closed to the Jewish settlement of Neveh Dekalim.
The Israeli army bulldozers razed lands in the area, and opened intensive and haphazard gunfire at the residents and their houses, they said, adding that three residents were shot and wounded.
Medical sources at Nasser Hospital said that the three were shot in different parts of their bodies, one of them is in serious conditions. (Xinhua News Agency May 2, 2004)
