Xu Caihou, a member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, left Beijing Sunday for an official goodwill visit to Mexico and Cuba.  

Xu and his party are making the visit at the invitation of the Mexican National Defense Ministry and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.
