Luo Haocai, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with visiting Mozambique President Joaquim Alberto Chissano in Beijing Monday.
Luo expressed appreciation of Mozambique's adherence to the one-China policy.
Luo said China is willing to maintain friendly cooperative relations with Mozambique and work together with Mozambique for world peace and common prosperity.
Mozambique would continue to uphold one-China principle and sternly oppose Taiwan independence, said Chissano, adding he hoped that China would realize reunification at an early date.
Chissano is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Besides Beijing, he will also visit southwest China's Sichuan Province and Shanghai, China's largest economic hub.
