A visiting delegation of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wednesday was received by Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
The delegation headed by CPPCC National Committee Vice-Chairman Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit arrived here on Tuesday for a five-day goodwill visit at the invitation of the Cambodian Senate.
During the meeting, King Sihanouk welcomed the delegation's visit, saying it will further strengthen the cooperation and exchange between Cambodia's Senate and China's CPPCC.
He said Cambodian people will never forget the sincere and selfless assistance from China for their fighting for national independent, peace, sovereignty or in the years of construction.
He reiterated Cambodia's support to the one-China policy and to China's sacred task of unifying the country.
Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit conveyed greeting to King Sihanouk from Chinese President Hu Jintao and CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin.
He thanked the King and Cambodian government for the persistent support for China's great cause of unifying the country, adding that the traditional and friendly Sino-Cambodian ties that were started by King Norodom Sihanouk and the older generations of Chinese leaders have stood severe tests of the changes of international situation.
It is the first stop of the delegation's Asian visit, which will also take it to the Laos and Thailand.
