China is willing to make concerted efforts with the United States to push forward their relationship of constructive cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said Saturday. Kong made the remark while commenting on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-US diplomatic relations, which fell on Jan. 1 this year. "With far-sightedness, leaders of the two countries realized the establishment Sino-US diplomatic ties 25 years ago, unveiling a new chapter in Sino-US relations," he said. "Over the past 25 years, Sino-US relations have stood tests and achieved positive progress." History has proved that the two great countries of China and the United States, despite their differences, shoulder common responsibility and share extensive cooperative basis on some major issues concerning human peace and development, Kong said. "A fine Sino-US relationship can benefit the two peoples and is conducive to the peace, stability and development of the world," the spokesman said. China is ready to exert concerted efforts with the United States to strengthen exchange and cooperation in line with the three Sino-US joint communiques and the common interests of the two countries, so as to promote the constructive and cooperative relations between the two countries, Kong said.
