Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi said in Beijing Tuesday that China will continue to expand its cooperative relations with the United Nations and its representative bodies in China.
Wu made the remark while meeting Khalid Malik, newly-arrived resident coordinator of the UN system's operational activities for development and resident representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in China.
Wu said China will continue to support the United Nations to play an active role in international cooperation.
She said China highly appreciates what the UNDP has done to help China's social and economic development.
Malik said the United Nations also admires the role of China within the United Nations. He also put forward the UNDP's plan of cooperation with China.
