Mutual Trust, Cooperation Among China, US, Europe Conducive to World Security

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said in Beijing Wednesday that the mutual trust and cooperation among China, the United States and Europe is conducive to the world's security and stability.

Jia made the remarks in a meeting with foreign participants of the International Symposium on "Sino-US-European Relations in the New Century: Opportunities and Challenges."

Such cooperation is also beneficial to the peaceful co-existence and common prosperity of countries of different social systems, he said.

He hoped the three sides would increase understanding through communication, enhance trust through dialogue and promote cooperation through exchanges for opening up a new phase of Sino-US-European relations.

The three-day symposium was jointly sponsored by the China Institute for International Strategic Studies and the Hotung Institute for International Relations.
