The cooperation between telecommunication sectors of China and Israel enjoys huge potential and great prospects, said an official from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Beijing Monday.
Li Baosheng, deputy chairman of CCPIT's sub-council of telecommunication, made this remark on the Israel Telecommunication and IT Seminar held Monday.
Over 20 Israeli companies and 50 Chinese companies in the information industry attended the seminar. Representatives from Israeli companies introduced to their Chinese counterparts the state-of-the-art products and technologies in digital network and mobile telecommunication.
Li said Sino-Israeli trade volume has been growing at an annual growth rate of 31 percent in the past five years, and reached US$495 million in the first six months of 2003.
The rapid growth is mainly in the hi-tech product trade including telecommunication, computers, software and medical equipment, said Li.
Israeli Ambassador Dr. Yehoyada Haim said that having advanced technologies in telecommunication service, software security and semi-conductor industry, Israel exports products and technologies to over 200 countries and regions.
Israel is willing to provide Chinese users of infrastructure solution, fixed line, wireless network and broad band technologies, said Haim.
