Canadian FM Meets China's Senior Leaders
Visiting Canadian Foreign Minister Willian Graham Monday met separately with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan and Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing.

Wen exchanged views with Graham on China-Canada relations and other international issues of mutual concern during their meeting.

Tang told Graham, who arrived in Beijing on Sunday, that Sino-Canadian relations have developed rapidly in recent years, with fruitful progress achieved in all areas. China is willing to promote bilateral relations on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

Graham said the Canadian Government values its relations with China and hopes to promote bilateral cooperation in politics, economy and trade, especially on important international and regional issues.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said the smooth development of bilateral relations is good for both countries as well as peace and development in the world. He also thanked the Canadian Government for its support during China's fight against SARS.
