The US State Department on Thursday issued a fresh warning about a new possible terrorist attack on compounds where foreigners live in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The warning, issued through the US consulate in Jeddah, said the compounds are located in al-Hamra district of the Saudi city and that the attack could take place in the near future.
"The US consulate general in Jeddah has received an unconfirmed report that a possible terrorist attack in the al-Hamra district of Jeddah may occur in the near future," agencies reports quoted the consulate as saying in a notice.
"While we cannot certify the credibility of the threat, in light of recent events this information is being shared with the American community," the consulate said, referring to this week's serial attacks in Saudi capital of Riyadh which killed at least 32 people, including eight Americans.
Some US citizens reportedly responded to the warning by beginning to move out of the al-Hamra district.
