China has donated US$30,000 to the Bolivian Red Cross Society to aid mud-rock flow victims in the north of the country, the Foreign Ministry announced in Beijing Saturday.
Chinese Ambassador to Bolivia Zhang Tuo, on behalf of the China Red Cross Society (RCS), donated the money to President Pena of the Bolivian Red Cross Society (BRCS).
The BRCS president expressed his gratitude, saying it would inspire people in the affected area to overcome difficulties inflicted from the mud-rock flow.
A grave mud-rock flow occurred on Mar. 31 in the Bolivian town of Chima, 220 km north of the capital city, La Paz, claimed 13 lives and left at least 31 missing and 130 others homeless. And some 400 houses were submerged by massive mud and rocks.
