The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Friday protested against the anti-DPRK propaganda intensified by South Korea in the frontal line areas, and urged Seoul to stop the slander campaign at once.
The head of the North side to the North-South military working-level talks, in a message to the chief delegate of the South side, accused South Korea of having intensified the anti-DPRK "loudspeaker propaganda" since late February, thus violating the basic spirit of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and driving the situation to "the brink of a war," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
This is an act of perfidy in breach of the Joint Declaration under which the two sides should refrain from slandering each other, the message said.
It urged the south to stand to reason and stop at once the smear campaign, and clear the frontal line areas of propaganda means, "which is the source of confrontation and conflict."
The message warned of "grave consequences" if the south side fails not take immediate measures to stop the campaign.
