Li Ruihuan assured in Victoria on Thursday that Sino-Seychellois relations will be pushed to a higher level with the efforts of the two sides.
Li, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remark in a meeting with Chairman of National Assembly Francis Macgregor on a stopover here, following a tour to three African countries, Tanzania, Namibia and Zambia.
Li said that despite of the long distance between the two countries, China and Seychelles have enjoyed friendly and successful cooperation in political, economic, cultural and health fields, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1976.
He also expressed appreciation for the One-China policy of the Seychelles government and its support to China on various issues.
Macgregor on his part expressed warm welcome to Li for his stopover in Seychelles following his African tour, saying that Seychelles and China have a long history of close relationship.
He said Seychelles can share China's successful experiences in boosting its agriculture, health, fishery and other sectors. He also expressed hope the bilateral ties will be promoted to a higher level.
