Car Bomb Kills 20 in Bogota Club
A car bomb exploded in an exclusive club in northern Bogota Friday night, killing at least 20 people and leaving more than 100 injured, Mayor Antanas Mockus said.

The car bomb, placed in a parking lot of the club El Nogal, blew up at about 8 p.m. Friday night (0100 GMT Saturday), setting fire to the 10-story building, which was frequented by Colombian politicians and businessmen.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The blast occurred shortly after officials from national police declared victory over planned city bombings. The blast plunged the country, locked in a 40-year-old domestic war, back into chaos.
