Russian Special Envoy Arrives at Beijing
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losiukov arrived at Beijing Friday morning.

The special envoy stopped over in Beijing en route to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

At Thursday's regular press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Yang Wenchang is to meet with Losiukov and exchange views on the DPRK nuclear issue.

Zhang said that China's stance on the issue is to maintain a peaceful, stable and nuclear-free Korean Peninsula and to resolve the crisis through dialogue.

Before leaving Moscow Thursday, Losiukov told press that he hoped to hold "constructive talks" with the DPRK leadership.
