A seminar on the past and future of the Sino-Japanese economic and technological cooperation was held here Friday.
Minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua and Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Long Yongtu spoke highly of the achievements China and Japan have made in technological cooperation and trade in the past 20 years.
Some 450 people attended the seminar, jointly sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
JICA provides economic and technical aid to other countries by providing free or low-interest funds. The agency has good relations with the Chinese Science and Technology Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and has played an important role in promoting Sino-Japanese economic and technical cooperation.
