United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Beijing Monday afternoon to continue his four-day working visit to China.
Chinese President Jiang Zemin will meet with him later in the afternoon, and Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan will hold talks with him.
Annan began his visit on Sunday in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province. Zhejiang University conferred an honorary doctor's degree on Annan Monday morning.
Annan is in China at the invitation of the Chinese government.
